Tips for best ways to get blogging Ideas

Since I started writing online, I have seen many changes happening in the internet space. Years ago anyone could start a social media account and post pictures or videos of themselves doing funny things or teaching interesting facts with little effort that content would go viral. Social sharing sites have made it easier for people to connect and reach a group of people from all over the world instantly.

Now it is very common for people to have multiple social media accounts, blogs and video channels where they actively upload photos of themselves sharing things such as what they are eating or the clothes they just bought or how they designed their home studio. The internet has made it easier to see how people are living on a day to day basis.

As a researcher, curator and writer I have benefited from all the lifestyle channels on youtube. I get to see live updates on what people are thinking, how they feel, and how they like to spend their time. I guess you can say I am observing real people to see what they have to say on a variety of topics. Technically this is called field research.

Because I like following trends I end up discovering some interesting topics from watching videos, reading forums and joining business related programs. After hours of observing real people, I begin writing down things that they say and do on a piece of paper, then I come up with ideas for my blog.

The great thing about using this method is that you are getting first hand experiences from people who are sharing to an audience in real time. You can’t get this kind of development from reading a book or taking academic class.

This is why many college professors will tell their students that if they want to really know about the subject they are studying it is best to get “real world experience”. Which is true for many creative professions as singing, dancing, painting, or playing an instrument. Musicians, filmaker, book authors and performers often say that their best work came from being “inspired” by the world around them.

Bloggers are seeing a shift from recommending products to connecting with readers from sharing experiences. I think this change is for the better. I like to take the approach with my content that is going to provide helpful and useful educational ideas.

Magazines are one of the best places to find specific niches

I remember when I first found out that magazine publishers specialize in providing the right products to magazine subscribers. Many of the topics are very specific to a particular area. You know that if crafters need to know something about quilting, woodworking or jewelry art they can find a complete magazine designed for them.

Bloggers can use this as a way to check the temperature of the marketplace. Under the magazine categories you will see things like: Yachting, Home Decor, Birdwatching, Fishing , Golf and Hunting. Many of the magazines will appeal to both men and woman and parents. If you have a blog, and you decided on a particular niche, wouldn’t it be great to a modern focus group of people telling you exactly what they want? Well that is what magazine subscription sites provide.

Reading the Newspaper can be profitable

I found some of my best blog ideas from reading the newspaper in my city. There are experienced journalists who have interviewed the most noteworthy topics, in your area. Depending on where you live you can get a wide view of what companies are advertising and talking about. As you know world news affects all areas even your small town.

Keeping up with the latest trends in your city can be a boost to your blog content. Especially when it comes to SEO. Local keywords do well in search. Start with talking about your local businesses, your town, city or county. Include zip codes to narrow down your search to reach audiences who are wanting to find products and services near them online.

In conclusion: You can find ideas anywhere, just look around to see the many interesting topics being discussed online and in local areas.
