Entrepreneurs need to stay focused to complete the daily tasks needed to reach specific goals. Some of your biggest distractions will be social media. Ironically this method of communication is how lots of freelancers connect with business partners and get clients.
From someone who knows all to well the pitfalls of trying to do more than one thing at a time, I want to start an open conversation about why multi-tasking is distracting you from reaching your desired outcome.
This may sound like an unrealistic criticism but I think it is worth a look into how trying to do several things at once can put you behind your competitors and slow down the progress of your business.

A tip is that it is fundamentally important to prioritize your time when it comes to growing an online business. This is because the internet has lots of things ready to constantly distract you from finishing your money making opportunities.
Notice how I said “money making activities”. If you consider all the multi-tasking that you do each day, which ones of those tasks actually pays you for your time?
Time is the new currency and everyone is trading time for money. Sometimes you have no choice but to try to multi-task in order to feel like you are productive. But in reality “action” in itself is just that doing something over and over again. How is that action getting you results in your business.
The goal is to be productive, not just active. Choose money-making activities first, then do the rest once you have completed your most important tasks of the day. To be successful you will want to use time management as your strategy.

Figure out how much time it will take you to complete your tasks, it may be necessary to break up each activity into smaller chunks of time. For example do you have 20 minutes a day to spend on your business? Most often you will be able to squeeze in a few minutes to do research or to post a link on your social media timeline.
A few minutes can be used to make those important phone calls or to write a post on your blog. It can happen while completing other tasks that will not distract you from completing your goals. The ideas is to do activities to reach a positive result, this could mean changing time spent watching TV or movies and listening to music into advertising your website instead.
If time is not available then it is time to eliminate other time wasters, it is not an easy thing to do because as in my case, everything I do seems to be important. So setting priorities can be a challenge. Some business professionals have a work schedule for doing tasks they enjoy and then they outsource the rest to a virtual assistant.
Set down with your business plan and see where you can get help in your business to save time and to be more productive.

What are money making opportunities?
As mentioned earlier, if you can do more things that will help your business grow, than the time you spend will be worth the effort put into completing tasks. Social media can be a money making opportunity if you are using it for more than just communication.
Post links to your business website, use it to gain new clients, or as a way to promote advertising. For example if you have a blog you can use your articles to repurpose on your video sharing platform as well as audio books. Some writers are able to turn blog posts into a digital reader.
The cool thing is that videos can be transcribed, articles can be turned into audio and photos can be posted on social networks. Each time you share a video, photo or link it could be a chance to introduce your business to a prospect.

Seek ways to brand your business with merchandise
I thought this was a great way to gain customers by having branded merch. Sites like teespring will let you custom design tshirts, bags, mugs or posters with your business logo. When people come to your website they have the option to buy items they would already be buying. At the same time you are able to build a community of readers who will share your content with others.
Business branding is how entrepreneurs are able to gain exposure on platforms that allow subscribers to engage and connect with you directly. It will take creativity and setting a schedule to meet your goals. plus you will want to substitute one activity for another to try and get as much productivity in your business that you can.
