How to Use Blogging for Marketing Online

The internet is a visual platform and many of the content creators use social media and video sharing sites to promote businesses. You may have even noticed that Youtube ranks on the front page of Google for many search terms. With that being said it is still important to realize that making a blog that gains organic traffic is important.

A blog is compatible with instagram photos, youtube videos and facebook posts. You want your audience to get detailed information about your products and services. Having a blog will allow you to monetize your content with ads.

Many bloggers make money from the articles they publish on their domain by using ads per click or cost per action and cost per lead agencies.

Depending on how much traffic you can attract with your blog you can earn a significant amount of money each month by getting visitors who engage with your content and want to share it on social media.

Blogging has advanced with new technology and artificial intelligence algorithms. The best way to get started and reach a level of success will depend on you talking to a specific audience of readers.

You can start a blog with the following topics:

  1. Review popular products
  2. Share opinion on celebrity news
  3. Write about cooking recipes
  4. Teach people how to learn a new skill

As you can see there is a variety of ideas for starting a blog. It depends on how passionate you are about the subject you are writing about. People will connect with your brand and want to follow your journey.

There are different kinds of blog styles:

  1. Informational
  2. Instructional
  3. Casual
  4. Business

Some people use a blog like a daily journal of their day to day life activities, while others use a blog to report on the events happening around the world. The most popular type of blog is one where you can brand yourself and grow your business.

In each case it is good to be knowledgeable about the subject y ou are writing about or you can outsource writers who will create articles for you. Consistency is the key, come up with a schedule of how often you want to post to your blog and then don’t forget to share it on Twitter.

Why Blogging is the a good fit for me

I come from a family of writers, poets and storytellers, so you can say that blogging is in my blood. I have always been an avid reader, when I was in college I loved to learn about new things by reading magazines, books and print advertising. Since cellphones technology has taken over print media, most information can be downloaded on a mobile app.

Currently I like to read articles on blogs, websites and videos especially if I want to learn about a new topic, subject or trends. I have personally set up several blogs and websites most of them have been free platforms. My favorite type of content publishing site is ones that offer crowdsourcing and revenue sharing. Fortunately there are plenty of these types of websites on the internet, which I would recommend to get practice with showcasing your writing style.

My background experience with writing content started in 2009.

This is when I first discovered that sites would pay me to contribute content on a variety of topics. You may have heard of these sites called “content farms”. The author could setup a profile and then write about cooking, tech gadgets, hairstyles, gaming, home decor or anything that they were familiar with and at the same time earn money from pay per click advertising.

These writing sites would have good SEO and ranking in the search engines causing them to gain lots of organic traffic. Mainly people searching for information, solutions to problems or recommendations on products to buy. The downside to contributing articles to a website that is free to join is that if the site decides to sell or close down then the authors lose all of their work, plus any money they were making from the articles.

How to get started blogging online

The best advice I can give from personal experience is that if you like to research information, follow trending topics and share it by writing articles then you should start your own blog. To get started you will want to check out a hosting company like Bluehost, Hostgator, Godaddy or Siteground and then download the content management system WordPress.

It is easy to setup a blog but the hard part is deciding what you will specialize in. What type of information do you want to share? Who is your target audience? How will you monetize your videos, images and text? Will you use your own photos or pictures from the public domain? You can also decide to outsource a writer for your blog if you don’t want to write it yourself, just know that getting a good experienced writer will cost most of your budget.

Next how will you market your blog? You can use free traffic methods by publishing on social media sites or you can use keywords for organic traffic, but getting people to see your content online is challenging. Most popular blogs use paid advertising to get seen by more people.

In conclusion: Blogging is a good marketing strategy, it is also a starting place for introducing your brand to a target audience of readers. If you need freelance writers you can hire them to post content to your blog. The more articles you can publish the better SEO you will have in reaching organic traffic from Google Search.
